Ugh, I hate being sick.....
Dec. 18th, 2005 12:55 pmI was going about my business peacefully enough yesterday - bought Rowan his costume for the play on tuesday, we had egg and chips at the cafe and then did some food shopping before going home to make some more christmas decorations. Did okay too - there're paper chains on my ceiling, and we have a few crackers made for when I put the tree up. Gotta make some room for the damn thing first though, as every available corner in my living room has stuff I needed to keep out of my still-damp bedroom, like clothes *sigh*
After I got his lordship to bed, I settled down to watch another couple of episodes of my new Sports Night DVD. I'd never seen the second season, so I was pretty psyched when it arrived on wednesday - only problem is that my TV can't show NTSC signals so the only way I could watch them without a headache is by playing them on the computer. So, for the moment my DVD drive in the desktop has been changed from region two to region one. Hopefully in the new year I can buy myself a decent TV and it won't be an issue anymore.
However, a couple of episodes in I started getting that horrible achy feeling in my back and arms, and my throat started feeling sore. Which means I was coming down with something - and I really don't have the time to be sick right now. For one thing, taking time off sick for the next couple of weeks is a complete no-no.
I swiped some paracetamol from my parents place this morning, and I'm trying to make sure I eat. Hopefully this will have passed by tomorrow.
Although I really enjoyed it, I can see now why Sports Night wasn't renewed after season two. It was basically "Danny's depressed and having a nervous breakdown and, as a result, Casey crosses the line several times from being a loveable asshole to become a complete bastard."
Don't get me wrong, it was still really good. But if you compare the two seasons, the first was so much better.
Right...better try and get something done. I'm so glad Rowan's gone off to my in-laws for the day. I don't think I could cope with his company today.
