Update with pictures!

So last weekend was Bonfire Night. Or Guy Fawkes Night. But basically a day when you have carte blanche to set off noisy fireworks in your backyard after sunset.

(Doesn't stop anyone doing this during the preceeding week - and sometimes while the sun's still up - but that's a whole 'nother rant.)

It was looking like it was gonna be a pretty wet weekend, so Mam decided we'd do our fireworks on the 4th, rather than the 5th. And we weren't the only ones.

The pack we bought were supposed to be quiet ones, but of course they weren't. Plus Mam accidentally sent one rocket into the garage door! *laughs*

We contemplated going to the professional firework display the next day, since the 5th turned out to not be as bad as everyone thought. But we were all skint, so we decided just to light up a few sparklers. I'm still waiting on the pictures from that since we used my Dad's camera that night.

He has a birthday party tomorrow, for one of his nursery friends. So I've been shopping this week for new shoes and clothes for both of us. Don't you just love peer pressure - especially self-inflicted? Still need to get Rowan's shoes - gonna pick them up before we go to the party.

There's another party next weekend, for my brother-in-law's two year old neice. And of course in a couple of weeks it's Rowan's birthday. Still need to sort out his party - can't get away with just a little family thing now his friends have started inviting him to theirs...*is getting a headache already*
