This is getting annoying now.
Oct. 12th, 2005 08:29 pmSo I had to take today off to wait in for a council inspector to come look at the flood damage to my flat. Never mind that a guy called by almost four weeks ago with his hand-held sensor thingy and said he'd put in a work order for someone to come clean up and redecorate....
So this new guy does all the looking and the tutting, and makes some notes. He tells me they're gonna need to redo the bathroom ceiling and replaster the walls, and strip the bedroom walls to be treated for damp. They will then redecorate the damaged rooms for me. I'm also apparently going to need extractor fans in the bathroom and kitchen, because of the damp.
And this will be done any time in the next six weeks.
Cue one unhappy Sammi, who doesn't say much 'cause she knows there's nothing she can say to this guy that will make a difference.
Cue one equally unhappy mother, who calls up for a status report and is disgusted by the length of time it's gonna take. So she's gonna make a call to the housing manager for my area and kick up a fuss.
I loves my Mam, I does :-)
Not like I can take any more time off for this though. I used up the last three hours of my holiday allowance today, and have to spend the next two days working on an extra hour, to make my time up. Work will not be happy if I have to ask for more time off, despite the fact I've always made the time up.
In other news I filled in an application form for my previous job. While I'm not thrilled about this, I think it's better than trying to stick with my current job. I hate it a great deal, and it's starting to show. Has been for some time. So, rather than risk getting fired, I'm planning to go back to the store for a while and get my finances in order before I start back at school next September.
Here's hoping I'm not making a big mistake.
