Ho hum....

Another day off work waiting for workmen. My employers are gonna start getting pissy with me, I'm sure of it. Second friday in a row....

You'd think by now they'd know me well enough to know I don't take the piss like that. But with my productivity record, and my sick record over the last few months, plus the fact I have a new team manager....nope. No chance.

So, the sitrep. Still flooding. It's now happening in Mrs Morgan's flat directly above me too, so there's something much more serious going on. Either one of the two empty flats above us has a leak, or the main pipe does. Since we're getting waste water, I'm inclined to think it's the main pipe and we're getting the water from the two flats opposite the empty ones.

So called the council repair team again this morning (I have the number memorised now), who got me to call the housing office for my district, who put in a report to the Estates department. They called me back to check I'd be around and should be here in about half an hours time.

Which means I had to call in to work and tell them I couldn't come in. I don't personally mind, as I could really do with another three day weekend. But I don't need the potential grief on monday, let me tell you.

*sigh*

Wasn't in the best of moods yesterday, and I'm kinda sorry for those who talked to me last night. I know I wasn't that cranky, thank goodness, and got some decent RP done with Mike - two different arguements between the same characters. My head was spinning! lol!

My bad mood's partially hormonal, and it's been niggling at me all week. But a month of a damp flat, plus a sucky job, plus generally feeling sorry for myself...it all adds up. So as I left the office last night all I could think about was selling most of my stuff, packing the rest and jumping on the next plane to Seattle. I have long-time friends there I know would let us crash for a little while, plus I have friends from the Watchtower living in the area.

Lots of reasons why I shouldn't do that. Many reasons why it would be practically impossible. But oh do I want to, at times.

Anyhoo - el blokie from the council is here and has been checking my walls with some kind of damp-meter. Lots of 'oh dear oh dear' clucking going on... This might even get it sorted. *hopeful*
