My weekend plans!
Jul. 6th, 2005 09:43 pmSo yeah, I am as bouncy as a bouncing thing right now (except maybe Tigger). I really can't wait for Friday to come along!
Friday morning, catching a coach at 10.30 to Birmingham. Should get there about one pm, when I'll be waiting around for my friend Robert to finish work. Will give me time to catch a bite to eat.
Then we're driving down to London, and will hopefully get to Hyde Park in time to see the opening band, Razorlight. We apparently have seats in the 'Golden Circle' so, as Robert so colourfully put it, we "should be close enough to smell their aftershave" lol!
And then...Queen! *bounces off the ceiling*
Last time I saw any member of Queen perform live was also the last time I saw Robert. He invited me to see Brian May's first solo tour at Aston Villa, Birmingham, when I was fifteen. He was making up for not going with me to the Cardiff gig a few months previously - it was the first time I'd travelled away from home alone.
Since then, I traced him again through 'Friends Re-United', and we've been in sketchy communication ever since. I just hope we'll have enough to talk about on the drive down to London! lol! Twelve years is a long time....
He's offered to let me crash with his family for the night rather than try and get home from London at midnight, so I'll also get to breifly meet his wife and son - who's about Rowan's age. I'll then be getting a coach home from Birmingham at lunchtime the next day. Mam's taking Rowan out to visit family on saturday, so I'll be able to crash for a bit if I want.
