Water, water everywhere....

If I see another puddle, it'll be too soon...

Noticed on saturday that there was a puddle on the floor of my toilet room (the toilet's separate from the bathroom...). Checked around the room for leaks, and noticed that one of the pipes on the wall was wet, so that must have been where it came from.

We put some towels down, and when I checked the next morning, the pipe was dry. So I left it, to see what would happen. Sunday afternoon, my friend was visiting and saw that there was water pouring down the window, from the ceiling!

My upstairs neighbour had her washing machine going at the time, so I spoke with her to see if she could help. There's an emergency line for things like this, but I couldn't call them out myself as the problem was obviously with my neighbour.

We finally got it sorted yesterday, so I put my dirty towels in the washing machine - which I haven't used in two years, so I wasn't sure if it was still in working order.

I load it up, set it to wash, it makes the clunking noise as it locks the door....then nothing.

Investigation suggested it wasn't getting any water. So I move my cooker - tearing the brand new linoleum in the process - and turn the taps on the water pipes. That seemed to sort the problem out.

Woke up this morning....and there's water all over my kitchen floor!

Didn't have time to investigate so I just moped it up. I hoped it was just a leak following the wash - though that would mean I need a new machine.

Got home tonight - more water.

Looks like the water was dripping out of the water pipe at the tap - either it wasn't supposed to be turned on, or Mam didn't secure it properly.

So now I have more towels all over the floor, and my cooker, washing machine and freezer are pulled out into the middle of the room.
