Return of the SGM-Video

Gonna be busy today, though I should be available online for most of it.

Got a call from one of the Sales supervisors on friday afternoon, asking if I had a copy of the SGM DVD I nearly killed myself working on at the start of the year. Unfortunately, I don't. The only person who has a completed copy is Dale, my co-editor, but he recently departed for a decent IT job - in British Gas, if I recall.

So, since the rugrat has gone to vist his father and grandparents today (can you sense my relief? lol!) I have skimmed through the housework, and will shortly be heading upstairs to my desktop to work on the SGM files, to try and cobble together a new copy of the video.

Why can no sodding thing be easy????

I found the storyboard file for this bloody video, found all the files it was expecting to find some place else - even made a new copy of a .bmp that was missing.

All good, yeah? Noooo - this is me we're talking about!

I've never liked the software Dale uses for his videos - I much prefer the one we used to make it all in the first place. But I can't make an actual DVD with my own software. So I've been forced to use the one he was - which I just don't understand....

Once all the files looked to be in place, I tried to preview the production, to see if it was all ok before I waste a DVD on it. But it kept closing on me. So I thought 'sod that' and decided to try and make the disc.

There's a file path error, but buggered if I know where it is *growls angrily*

I can't waste any more of my day on this - I need to go get dinner started, and the rugrat will be home soon and almost certainly tired. Dave's just gonna have to go whistle.
