Apr. 24th, 2005 12:04 amFairly quiet week all in all - work sucks, and I went to college again on friday.
Spent most of today in the various garden centres locally, looking for a plant I could grow on my desk at work. We have a competition-type-effort, but we have to make sure the plant won't bother anyone with hayfever.
So I scoured the county looking for an indoor plant, with no pollen-producing tendancies, that will be ok with the limited sunlight available in the only free corner of my desk...
Was interested in the cacti on offer - some of them are quite colourful. But they only came in individual pots, and I initially didn't want the hassle of repotting them.
Three or four stores later, I settled on some tiny mixed foliage, which I would put in a large-ish pot all together. So once I had my plants, compost and plant food, it was time to find a pot.
We headed for IKEA, and had a look around while the rugrat amused himself in the playarea. Found some nice pots, but also found sets of three different cacti at a ridiculously low price. So I ended up buying two pots and some cactus plants too! Gonna see which looks better when it's all pottted up.
I kinda like cacti actually - reminds me of when my paternal grandparents grew them on their massive dining room window.
Not much else has happened since, apart from the latest episode of Doctor Who. Which was cool as always. Rowan's enjoying it too, though Mam's grumbling.... *chuckles*
In other news - hate the direction Robin seems to be going in the comics, though Teen Titans was awesome. I saw quite a few former Titans that I've actually seen before, as I have a very old issue from back in...I think it could even be the Golden Age. I'll have to scan it in, but it includes Harlequin, and Bette Kane as Batgirl - which dates it right there! She turns up in the latest one as her later incarnation Flamebird.
Picked up a CD single of a song that makes me think of Cassandra, from Tim's point of view; Bodyrockers' 'I like the way'. Very cool!
