Gonna be saying that even louder in two weeks time, after a full week off work...
Hectic four days, though I was so sick on saturday I was asleep almost all day. I had to get up in time for the start if the new series of Doctor Who though!
I stayed as spoiler-free as I possibly could, including avoiding the leaked copy that got onto the internet. So when the four of us settled down to watch - yes, that includes my completely Who-phobic mother - I had no idea what was coming. Except for the bit about the Howells department store blowing up....
Was getting a little tired of the advert though; *bad northern accent* "D'you wanna come wi' me? Cos if ye do, ah should worn ya...." A Doctor with a northern accent will take some getting used to.
I'm not going to go into any detail, incase I spoil someone else - but it was fantastic seeing the city I know so well, even if they were making out it was London! *snort* They didn't do a good enough job of that, since anyone who knows Cardiff will recognise the Queens Arcade shopping centre...
And I will never look at The Entertainer toy store, or Giles Sports, in the same way again.....
One thing I will comment on is how jarring it was to see Billie Piper's character watch the department store explode from across the road - while standing with her back to said-department store's windows! But I guess that bit of lazy editing is only noticeable if you know the location well.
Ah well - it looks really promising in general.
Comics-wise: What's the general concensus on Nightwing Year One, guys? Anyone else feeling kinda anticlimatic? As well as pissed that she'll be back writing it next month....*cringes*
And I can't get Trillian to connect properly....says AIM and Yahoo are connected, but my other AIM account says different, and there's no MSN connection at all...*sigh*
