Hi, my name is: Sammi
When I'm nervous: I can barely speak, and my face goes all flushed
By this time next year: I want to have a new job, a new house and be studying Welsh again.
Last night I: ate too much chocolate cake and got caught up in HTML for the first time in too long.
PART 1: YOU
Were you a planned baby? I don't think so...Mam was told she couldn't have any more. After I came along, she tried again but by then it really was too late.
Were you the first? Yes and no; number three for my mother, first for my father.
PART 2: YOUR PERSONALITY
Do you have low self esteem? Very.
Are you happy right now? No.
PART 3: APPEARANCE
Are you comfortable with the way you look? Not in the slightest
Describe your hair: Short-ish, flat and mousey
PART 4: RANDOM
Ever been kicked out of a bar? No, but I was refused entry for unacceptable footwear once.
Ever been arrested? Nope
PART 5: THE OUTDOORS
Do you prefer indoors or outdoors? Indoors, but walks can be nice.
Do you like walking in the rain? As long as it's not freezing cold, yeah. Can be almost peaceful, walking in the rain at night.
Do you like thunderstorms? Yes - especially if I'm indoors and can watch the lightning. When I lived on Barry Island as a small child, my sister and I sat in the doorway watching the storm and saw lightning out to sea, which was awesome. Moments later, a fork of lightning hit the road a couple of meters outside our house and we ran into our parents bedroom screaming with laughter. :-)
PART 6: FOOD
Are you a vegetarian? No, I love meat too much for that - though I do have things that I refuse to eat, like veal. I very much enjoy some of the vegetarian options, as they can be a very nice change of pace.
PART 7: RELATIONSHIPS AND LOVE
Do you want to get married? Been there, done that. I think it would take a special person to make me want to do it again.
Are you in a relationship? No.
Why? I have neither the time, nor the opportunity, to find someone I connect with.
PART 8: RANDOM QUESTIONS
Where is your cell phone? My right trouser pocket.
Cheesecake? Yes please!
Car you want? One that comes with an attractive chauffer (pls to be a Ianto-clone?) I never plan on learning to drive, so I am stuck with the bus system when my mother doesn't give me a lift.
Your fears? Telephones, lack of money, becoming seriously ill, something happening to my son....too numerous to mention.
Who are you hanging out with tonight? Ummm...my son and my cat? And whomever I chat to online, if anyone.
Where did you grow up? Mostly Cardiff.
What are you wearing? Jeans and a purple t-shirt from the Swansea Chocolate Factory.
Tattoos? No way. I have a low pain threshold.
Ketchup? Once in a while. I have a bottle of Heinz 'Hint of Garlic' tomato sauce in my cupboard which is very nice.
Your computer? Is my social life, and my main source of entertainment.
Your friends? I have very few true friends, but I cherish each and every one of them - even if I do wonder why the hell they bother with me.
What are you thinking about right now? That I need something to drink.
Your work? Answering customer emails for an 'internet-based' (HAH!) car insurance company.
Last time you cried? Sometime last week. But it was more of a sniffle than an all out blub.
Last text? To my mother-in-law to confirm Rowan could go visit today.
Last received call? My mother, yesterday morning. Practically no-one calls me, but then again I don't call them either. A little something of a phone-phobia which means I'm almost incapable of calling anyone - particularly companies. With people I know won't mind hearing from me, it's mostly that I don't want to inconvenience them - they have lives, even if I don't.
Last IM? Rachel, yesterday evening.
Part 9: LIFE
Who knows the most about you? Other than myself? I'd say
alryssa and
thaya_rayal. They probably know more about me than my parents do - my mother, anyway.
Who do you blame for your mood today? That's a tough one. Probably me, as I should let things go more than I do. Like Gwen said to Ianto in last week's Torchwood; "Bloody well cheer up, would you!"
Have you ever seen a dead body? My maternal grandfather - no-one warned me he'd still be in there when we gathered at the hospital that day. Never wanted that burned into my memory. As a result I refused to go see my paternal grandfather in the last day or two he was with us, in order to keep the nice memory I had of our last visit together.
What is making you sad right now? Memories of Grampy, life sucking the way it does...
What was the first thing you did this morning? Reset the light switch on my fuse box - the living room lightbulb died this morning when Rowan got up, and tripped the fuse for all the lights in the house in the process. Thank goodness I now own a torch.
Last person you went out to dinner with? Does lunch in the Eli Jenkins with Mam and Rowan yesterday count?
Do you drink lots of water? Yeah, loads. Prefer it to other drinks, but I am drinking more tea and cola lately. I think I'm craving caffine. Or glucose, 'cause I'm also wanting to drink Lucozade more than normal too.
What toothpaste do you use? Crest, generally.
The last compliment you received? Probably from
yellowseptember last night.
What theme does your room have? Ummm...chaos? Of the unorganised sort?
Are you a mama's child or a daddy's child? I've alternated between the two over the years, though I went through a phase of avoiding my Dad as much as possible. No reason for that whatsoever, so possibly just a daft teenage thing. Nowadays I'm kinda fed up with the pair of them, though I can talk to my Dad better than I can my Mam.
The last website you visited? Other thank LJ, it would be Facebook. Not that I do a lot there.
Who was the last person you took a picture with? Graham - Rowan was playing around with his new camera.
Last person you went to the movies with? Rowan - you surprised? We saw Enchanted, which was a laugh.
What will you do for your birthday this year? I'll be in St Davids Hall watching the stage show of Lazytown with Rowan....what am I letting myself in for?
What are you looking forward to right now? Next wednesday's Torchwood. Sleep'd be good too.
Part 10: IF YOU HAD TO:
If you HAD to dye your hair a colour, what colour would it be? I want to have red hair, like I did when I was a toddler. But I'd probably have to go closer to golden brown.
If you HAD to get a piercing (not ears) what would you get? If I had to? My nose. It's the place I hate seeing piercings the least, and can be quite nice on some people.
