Gah!

The Ministry of Fun for this month are running a 'lookie-likey' competition based around Braveheart....

*exhales* I will restrain myself from my usual rant about the film's misrepresentation of my ancestor William Wallace, but... gah! Just gah!

Man. That there brings back a conversation.

Chris took an English friend to a Highland Games here in the states one time, right after the release of Braveheart. So it was all the rage at the games. This poor guy was just horrified by the attention the guy was getting in terms of merchandise. His words?

"But... But William Wallace was a subversive terrorist!"

;-)

*grins* This is the thing, he wasn't as far as I recall. He was a lowland nobleman, not some highland beserker like he's painted to be in Braveheart.

And he certainly never did the nasty with the Princess of Wales!

*backs away from the soapbox*

*laughs*

Don't ya love it when they rewrite history?
